Lickleyhead Castle is your stunning, exclusive use Scottish country retreat. Nestled in the heart of Royal Deeside and backing onto Mount Bennachie of song and tale, we host bespoke micro-weddings and offer a luxurious sojourn to those looking to stay as a group in quirky extravagance. The oldest parts of the building date to the year 1580 when it was built in stone at the behest of Patrick Leith. The castle was extended in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries to give it its current L shape. It has been continuously lived in since its construction, meaning most of its original features have been maintained. Lickleyhead Castle has been graced by the presence of both royalty and Hollywood stars in its many centuries. Guests who come to stay are helping to preserve a piece of Scottish history.
The whole of this sixteenth century castle can be booked on an exclusive use basis. Most guests select self-catering but there is nothing preventing you from bringing in external caterers. Lickleyhead Castle is the ideal venue to celebrate events from big birthdays to that real family Christmas you've always dreamed of.
