So you've decided to tie the knot with that special person in your life? Where can you go to ensure your special day is as magical and stress free as possible? Lickleyhead Castle

Lickleyhead Castle is the perfect venue for smaller ceremonies such as destination weddings and other types of micro weddings. We provide luxury, open space, privacy and heritage on your big day. Unlike most other venues, we have accommodation available inside the castle building, meaning the only journey you will need to make at the end of the day will be up the laird's private staircase to bed!

Various spaces within the castle are suitable for different purposes. For very small weddings of up to 15 people you could get married in our chapel. We could potentially have up to 35 people in the great hall for the ceremony or for canapes. The dining room can hold a maximum of 24 people. There would be room to have 10 people eat in an adjacent room if you needed more space than this for dining purposes. You could hold part of the wedding here at the castle and part elsewhere or you could do everything within the castle. Please let us know what you intend to do and who will be coming and we will do our best to accommodate your wishes.

Hiring the Venue

Lickleyhead Castle is a 'dry hire' venue, meaning the management don't supply you with food or drink. Instead you can either supply your own food or bring in external caterers (or a combination).
The management will set up the furniture for both the ceremony and the meal. We supply all the tables and chairs you will need. We will reset the great hall (ceremony room) afterwards for your comfort.
You will have access to all of the kitchen spaces including the catering kitchen.
The venue can be hired on a day hire basis or with accommodation on a multi-night basis.
We can introduce you to service providers such as celebrants and florists and coordinate with these professionals to ensure your special day goes smoothly.

Wedding Stay

Most wedding couples opt to stay here and have the ceremony on the day after their arrival. This makes the experience more relaxing. For wedding stays in 2026 and 2027 we are applying a flat £500 'event fee' on top of the cost of the accommodation. As with our more typical group stays there is a 3 night minimum stay policy in effect. Please note that while there may be up to 35 people at the ceremony, we cannot sleep more than 16 adults (+1-2 young children).

Day Hire

Hiring the castle for just the day is possible. Day hire starts at £2,200 and varies by season and weekday. Access is from 11am and everyone must be out of the building by 11:30pm on the same day. Access is granted to the rooms on the first two floors, including two bedrooms for changing purposes, the great hall, the dining room, an extra living room, both kitchens, the games room, four bathrooms and the chapel.

Here is a list of our preferred service partners for weddings and other events. It includes caterers and wedding planners. You are welcome to find other providers but please let us know about anyone you are thinking of hiring.
